Question:	brother I am a revert to islam and inshallah I will be married soon. I have a tattoo of an ex girlfriends name which is not apropriate as i am going to marry. I cannot afford to get it removed as this costs a lot of money. Would it be permissable to have another tattoo of the same size over it so it can no longer be seen. I do not want this to be a problem for my marriage. 07 February 2010 anon
Answer:	Assalamu alaikum Many thanks for your contact. May Allah give you ability and great reward for this conversion. Tatto is clearly forbidden in Islamic faith but it is allowed for you to have another simple tatto over it so that this name cannot be seen. This is more better than the previous one if you can afford it easily. Wassalam
