BCETS Education Services

The mosque runs evening and weekend schools, under the umbrella of Birmingham Community Education and Training Services (BCETS). BCETS Schools are part-funded by the Birmingham City Council Education Department and also work very closely with other organisations such as Birmingham & Solihull Connexions who explore arts and craft with younger pupils and arrange outdoor expeditions for older children.

Weekend tuition classes (for primary and secondary school's children)

The weekend school currenlt provides its pupils tutoring in English, maths, Science and Reasoning. In addition, GCSE classes in Islamic Studies are in progress. The school benefits from a prtnership with Chandos Primary Scholl and Percy Shurmer Primary School for a project 'Raising Achievement in Literacy', working in close association with Birmingham Association of Supplementary Schools (BASS) and Hihgate Education Action Zone.

Our Schools are staffed with qualified teachers with experience in working with the young and in educational practice.

BCETS Educational Services

The evening Supplementary School’ which currently teaches pupils Arabic, Islamic Studies and Qur’an Hifz. The school is currently in session for two hours daily in the evenings during the week and is therefore largely an after-school institution. However, it is gradually being developed into a more full-time place of learning and intuition. Staff backgrounds vary to maintain diversity for pupils who must overlook differences to understand the peaceful message of Islam and learn different languages and views.

There are basic classes for younger children and more intermediate classes for older children with a separate Hifz class for those wishing to memorise the Qur’an, largely made up of older students. Pupils are taught Islamic Studies from text books alongside Qur’an and Tajweed. Urdu is also an optional subject for older pupils.

To find out more or to enrol your child, please visit the mosque between 5pm-7pm on weekdays.
